Today the Americas celebrate International Migratory Bird Day, a day to consider the lives of the birds who undertake incredible journeys every year to complete their breeding and over-wintering seasons. Many of the birds who call Cowans Gap "home" in the spring and summer have just lately arrived from Central and South America. These birds are actively involved in the process of finding mates, chasing off intruders, and nesting, and so are very fun to observe at this time of year. Come along for Breakfast with the Birds to check out some of these feathered friends on a gentle stroll. A light breakfast will be provided, but please bring your own beverage. Some binoculars and field guides will also be available for use, or you may use your own. This program beginsat the Brightbill Interpretive Center, and is best suited for ages 10 and up.
