NOTE: This is a reschedule of the event planned for June 15.
Rent an Expert is an event where people who want to help others do or learn something offer their services to the members of the community for a very small fee ($5 per session). All the money collected will be donated to a charity that is chosen by all participants.
Some examples of what might be offered include: how to setup a blog, how to get the most from shortcuts in Photoshop, configure a Drupal community, redesign a Web site, customize a WordPress theme, create a survey, optimize AdSense ads, figure out tagging, how to shoot better photographs or just about anything really - even non-technical things like how to write a press release. Ideally this will happen in one on one exchanges, but it could be a project with a couple of people involved that needs the expertise or perhaps a team of people who are offering their expertise.
The event is co-sponsored by BrainJams and MindJet. We are seeking additional sponsors, if you are interested in helping out, please contact kristie@brainjams.org.
Cheers!

First, I would like to thank additional sponsors RateItAll and CNET. They are making sure the lights are on, wifi works and there is beer in the cooler.
I would also like to ask those of you ARE coming, who have not yet registered on the wiki to do so at http://rentanexpert.pbwiki.com/RegisterOnWiki and let us know if you are sharing, seeking or just coming to network. It will help us ensure we have enough drinks and eats and most importantly, we can try to match skills up before the event starts.
See you on the 19th!
Between the folks registered on the wiki, those on Upcoming, and others who have verbally said they will be there - we should have about 30 participants.
Of course, we won't know the final 'class' offerings or who the bodies in the room are until event actually starts - but it should be a fun experiment for all and worth checking out.
Besides, there is nothing really good on Wednesday night TV, so what do you have to lose, right?
See you tonight!

With the help of Joel Sacks, we have secured the meeting room in the CNET building for the event. Thank you so much Joel!
We plan to have Stormhoek wine, beer and soft drinks during the event. If we are able to secure additional sponsors, we will have snack food too!
