For immediate release:
Brainchild: New Work by Veronica Florez & Samantha Viloria
March 7 – March 24, 2012
Opening Reception: Saturday, March 10 from 6-9pm
Co-op 28 Gallery is pleased to present Los Angeles artists Veronica Florez and Samantha Viloria. Veronica Florez’s sculpture and mixed media work investigates the nocturnal aspects of a city; its growth, the industrial advancement, and the lull of wonder. This constantly evolving, theatrical landscape magnifies the fleeting interaction between strangers on the fringes of society, while highlighting the eventual evaporation and decay of all involved.
Samantha Viloria examines vague childhood memories and the perception of the self through her ink drawings and mixed media creations. Her characters are replete with the requisite confusion and anxiety of growing up and being conscious of one's appearance and actions while retaining a whimsical sense of humor through all the turmoil.
Located at 1728 N. Vermont Ave. in Los Feliz, Co-op 28 Gallery is the exhibition annex to Marci Siegel's boutique Co-op 28. We have revolving shows offering the work of local artists in a new atmosphere that's both inviting and relaxing.
