Braids September 6, 2011

Braids is an art rock band from Canada, whose members began collaborating in high school. On September 6, they will perform music from their debut album, Native Speaker, which was released on January 18 to positive reviews. In June, the album was named as a longlisted nominee (one of 40) for the 2011 Polaris Music Prize, a juried award for Canadian album of the year. On July 6, the album was named to the Polaris shortlist (one of 10). The 2011 Polaris Award-winner will be announced on September 19.
