Boy Genius featuring Mr. Ray Neal
"There’s something wounded in the sound of Boy Genius, a Brooklyn band with a knack for mid-’80s jangle-pop heroics. Perhaps it’s that skittish harmonica, or the bounding tempos, racing forward like a calf discovering the power of its own stride; maybe it’s the way Jason K. sings, dangling his words on short strings before cutting them loose." - Popmatters
Boy Genius' recordings are stocked with blissed-out sing-alongs and colored, on the edges, by trumpet, glockenspiel, and tried-and-true male/female harmonies. The band worked with Mitch Easter (Let's Active) on their latest full-length, "Staggering." Boy Genius features New Haven’s Mr. Ray Neal, who was a member of Miracle Legion.

The Cavemen Go
New England pop stalwarts, The Cavemen Go, have been making jangly, Elvis Costello-sounding pop music for the better part of a decade. Despite lineup and location changes, The Cavemen Go’s sound has remained remarkably consistent thanks to the stellar songwriting of Jeremy Sage. These songs get you up and dancing as Sage’s songwriting channels the no-frills, hook-heavy sounds of early rock’n’roll without coming off as self-consciously retro. Their latest release 'Someone's Always Dying To Break My Heart' was issued on February Records.
