The next dimension--Bowery Women: Shoot the Poem! -- a videopoetry anthology.

The book Bowery Women: Poems features a signature poem by writers from many poetic worlds. The videos of Bowery Women: Shoot the Poem! are likewise wildly varied, ranging from Anne Waldmans and Ed Bowes dreamscapes, to provocative performance art pieces by Kristin Prevallet and maryreilly, from narrative to documentary-style to avant-guard experiment. The videos incorporate visual arts (painting, drawing, photography, collage), music (punk rock to hip hop to electronica) and computer-generated elements. Bowery Women: Shoot the Poem! weaves the diverse artistic strands into a unified work of video performance.

Bowery Women: Shoot the Poem! will be presented on Sunday, September 9th from 6 to 8 p.m., the finale of a day of video programming at the Bowery Poetry Club for the HOWL Festival of East Village Arts. Several of the poets and videographers will be present and participate in a Q and A session after the performance.
