Independent filmmaker and former Boston student activist, Alisa Sofila, has returned from her world travels just long enough to present her work in progress, Freedom Fayanka, a multi-continental journey exploring the meaning of power in humanity?s struggle against economic and cultural globalization.

The film was shot in Venezuela, Cuba, the United States, Ukraine, Little Tibet, and India in an attempt to unite people and grassroots groups worldwide through dialogue, history-sharing and cultural arts.

Emphasis also lies on freedom on the principle of self-determination role of media in self-identity and community integrity, power relations from the state to the individual and the need to evaluate ourselves and our interpersonal relations as much as social ones.

This event is free and open to the public, though donations are suggested to support the filmmaker.
