In the sticky summer of '06, two teams readied to do battle in the first full bout in Boston Derby Dames history. The Cosmonaughties in their Vulvatron lab and the Nutcrackers at their ballet barre prepared, plotted, pliéd, and practiced, but it was not to be. Forces more powerful than even the Dames pulled the plug and the bout was postponed... until now. So on Saturday, November 11, the Nuts and 'Naughties meet at Shriners Auditorium for "Red Scare on Swan Lake," bout two of the Dames 2006-07 season.

With reinforced rosters and five more months of intense training, the Soviet scientists and badass ballerinas are ready to bring the whomp. Rested up after their appearance in the closest game in East Coast derby history, an unprecedented 58-58 tie with the Wicked Pissahs, the Cosmonaughties are feeding their jammers rocket fuel to ensure a blow-out win this time. But the Nutcrackers have some secret moves up their tutus, and hell hath no fury like a dozen prima ballerinas denied their debut.

Directions and Shuttle Bus Info

Shriners is located just 15 minutes north of Boston at exit 39 off I-93 North. Bear right at the end of the exit ramp and turn left at the first light onto Fordham Road. (You'll see a big Shirners fez-shaped sign in the median.) Continue to the end of Fordham Road to Shriners Auditorium and plenty of free parking.

Or take the 4:00 pm Lowell commuter rail from North Station (MBTA Green or Orange Line). Get off at the Wilmington Station to catch the free BDD shuttle bus to Shriners Auditorium. The shuttle will leave after the bout in time for the 9:14 train from Wilmington back to North Station.
