Starting Friday night, October 20, 2006 and continuing on Saturday night, we will be showing work from filmmakers nationwide including short films, feature length and animated films.
Each night of the festival, there will be a Q&A with some of the filmmakers, food will be provided by local caterers prior to screenings, and there will be ample time before and afterward to see and bid on silent auction items Silent auction items will include bike shop and restaurant gift certificates and a Burley trailer full of door prizes. Beer and wine will be available for purchase at the event.
Friday Night:
a family-friendly film about a teen trying to break the speed record for pedal power, along with a short film about cycling in Amsterdam. We're also proud to be presenting a preview of the film, "New Woman: The Life and Times of Annie "Londonderry" Kopchovsky", the story of a woman who, in 1894, pedaled her bike around the world. In addition, the filmmaker reponsible for our audience favorite last year (see her clip on our home page), Lynette Chiang, is previewing her new film about a trek on the old Route 66 and will be available for question and answer.
Saturday Night:
Criminal Mass, by the people who brought you "Still We Ride" premiered at the NY Bike Film Festival and we're happy to be showing it at the BBFF, along with a short film and about a new racing team enduring their first 24-hour mountain bike race.
We're still finalizing the roster so check back at http://www.bostonbikefilmfest.org/venues.html for additional film listings!
