This coming Saturday, BOOTIE has another mashtastic evening in store for you at the DNA Lounge!
This month, we are proud to present a very special guest DJ from the UK... BEN JAMIN . In his native England, Ben is well-known as a popular DJ at London's famed nightclub Heaven, and will be doing a very special all-mashup set for us at midnight. "Trust me," he says. "My intention is to blow the roof off with party power!" Don't miss it!
San Francisco mashup producer and author DJ Earworm takes over the upstairs room to not only play a slew of new, unreleased bootleg mashups, but also to celebrate the release of the very first book on audio mashup creation: Audio Mashup Construction Kit. Not only is this the definitive tome on how to create your own mashups – written by an acclaimed master of the craft – it's also a bit of a history lesson of the artform itself, delving not only into the how's and what's of mashup mixing and production, but also the why's. It's an extensive and exhaustive book detailing all aspects of mashup culture and creation – and you will have a chance to win a signed copy!
To win one, write down your name and your best mashup idea on a piece of paper. At COAT CHECK UPSTAIRS, there will be a *MASHUP IDEA BOX.* Put your idea in there. We'll pick our THREE favorites, and at midnight, DJ Adrian will announce the winners from the main stage! But you've gotta be there to win!
When Bootie house band Smash Up Derby played one of the side stages at Glastonbury last year – where U2 was headlining – they were shocked to run into Bono backstage! Turns out he loved the band, but said he was a little disappointed that they hadn't mashed up any U2 songs! Well this month, all that's going to change, as the band mashes up not one, but two, U2 songs! They'll be debuting them tonight at 11 PM.
We are quite happy that this month, FELICIA FELLATIO – our midnight mashup show – will be performing to the brand-new A plus D bootleg hit, "Standing In The Way of Connection," which pairs The Gossip with Elastica.
And of course, resident DJs Party Ben, Mysterious D, and DADA will be in the main room, spinning all your favorite mashups throughout the night, and DJ Adrian will be in the upstairs room with Earworm, playing electro-flavored bootlegs for your dancing pleasure!
