Boomarang - Live in concert at Kyra. The summer of 2005 was that of discontent for these boys from Aizawl in Mizoram. Teenage angst met creative desire and the result was a four-piece act which they rather mysteriously called Boomarang. Graduating quickly from playing covers to carving out their own sound, Boomarang shot to national stardom riding on the wave of a killer performance at Great Indian Rock, India's original rock festival. With an EP titled Rhythm of a Revolution their music smacks of the simmering undercurrent that is all to common to those that live in the North East. But it finds articulation in the Junk Rock grooves that Boomarang churns out. Why Junk Rock, you ask? Well, the band says that with influences carelessly tossed in as ingredients in a stir fry what else do you expect? So there's equal parts of jazz, blues, funk and reggae all seasoned with some heavy metal. There aren't too many more genres in your average music store's rock catalogue, now are there? Catch Boomarang live in concert.
