This is our second meeting.
Here’s the breakdown. Our first meeting was about finding out some of the experience levels that each person was at. Since we had members at the first meeting that did not have a blog set up we decided to give them some time to set up and come back ready.
We also had some members who were asking pointed questions at an advanced level.
So here’s the plan for the next meeting on Thursday July 23, 2009 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Part 1 From 6:00-7:00 p.m: We’re going to play a little catch up. The meeting will consist of two parts. The first hour will be for the beginners with basic information about structuring, adding photos, adding hyper links/anchor text, etc. This info might be too basic for many of the more advanced members, though they’re welcome to attend, they can just pop in later. *Before* you get there, beginners need to:
Set up a Wordpress blog at www.WordPress.com. It’s free. The URL for your new blog will look something like. www.ChrisGriffith.WordPress.com Store your password and know how to log in. Feel free to try to title it, change the theme etc before you get to the meeting. The more you do, the more time we save in class. Bring your laptop and be hands on.
Part 2 From 7:00-8:00p.m: It seems as though a few of the more advanced members had an interest in learning about Windows Live Writer. We can cover a few of the benefits of using WLW and some secret tips and tricks. Windows Live Writer can save you tons of time. Never log into the back end of your blog again. It’s a savior for those with multiple blogs. Beginners are welcome to stay. In addition, any question answering and problem solving we can do for each other is on the agenda. Sound fair? Input is welcome.
Download Windows Live Writer at www.windowslivewriter.spaces.live.com or just google it. Install it on your computer. You can sync it with your blog or we can help you do that in class.
The training center seats about 40 at tables plus there is room for more chairs in back. In addition to regular blogging members the doors will be open to some agents from Keller Williams. I don’t anticipate seating to be an issue but just in case, if you can RSVP it would be appreciated. I also wasn’t expecting more than a half dozen at the last even, either.
Since this is close to dinner hour you’re welcome to bring something to munch on. I don’t cook, don’t get your hopes up.
Feel free to email me for more info or questions: LifeInBonitaSprings@Gmail.com
The office address is: Keller Williams, 24851 S. Tamiami Trail, Bonita Springs, Fl 34134. The office is located on US 41 in the Bernwood Center, 500 feet south of Old 41 Road Traffic light. The office is in the same strip with Lansdown Pub and Paradise Seafood.
