Bold, Cautious, True August 12, 2012

To coincide with the sesquicentennial of the Civil War and Emancipation, VMFA hosts the 'Bold, Cautious, True: Walt Whitman and American Art of the Civil War Era' exhibit. The exhibit, whose title comes from Walt Whitman's poem 'As Toilsome I Wander'd Virginia's Wood,' features over 30 works that reflect Whitman's poetic portraits of 1800's American life.
