Einhorn's 'Voices of Light' is an "opera/oratorio" that takes place during a screening of Carl Theodor Dreyer's silent film masterpiece 'The Passion of Joan of Arc (1928).' It is scored for soloists, chorus, orchestra, and one very special bell (a recording of the church bell from Joan's hometown of Domremy). The libretto is a montage of ancient writings, assembled primarily from female medieval mystics including Joan of Arc herself.
