December 9, 2005 - January 14, 2006 Opening reception: Friday, December 9, 6-9 p.m. BODYBUILDER & SPORTSMAN GALLERY is pleased to present the second solo exhibition by Melissa Pokorny. Her new sculptures combine seemingly disparate elements-store-bought caricatures of dogs, birds and butterflies, yellow goo oozing from between stacked layers of blob-shaped faux wood cutouts and fake brick paneling-into a simultaneously comical and disorienting whole. In the project room Paul Nudd's collages, video and drawings present bits of studio detritus, old drawings and collages, small bits of fabric and canvas, fun-clay, snot, hairs, paint, varnishes and glosses, lint, etc., all elegantly composed into oozing biomorphic entities reminiscent of the Gak-like goop that fascinates every thirteen year-old adolescent boy.
