BODY OF WAR, 2007, The Film Sales Company, 87 min. Dirs. Phil Donahue, Ellen Spiro. Listening to the deeply human stories of our veterans, who have confronted life and death in ways that most people never do, is both essential and rewarding. This moving and important documentary, produced by famed talk show host/activist Phil Donahue and filmmaker Ellen Spiro, introduces us to a young Iraq War veteran through his thoughts, passions, and humor, while powerfully presenting the wider political context of the government's decision to go to war. This screening is a fundraiser for the national project outlined in Harvard University author Paula J. Caplan's book When Johnny and Jane Come Marching Home: How All of Us Can Help Veterans (whenjohnnyandjanecomemarching.weebly.com). Discussion follows with Donahue and Caplan. Evening begins with a reception in the lobby at 5:00 PM.
