Workshop Details:
Through a series of gentle and joyous writing exercises we create a safe space to honor our histories and begin to shed some of the shame and fear that block our potential for joy. We celebrate the erotic in all its complexities as we explore body memory and desire. Individuals are welcome to speak directly about painful experiences and/or revel in writing about pleasure. All of our lives are affected by the sexual violence of the media, as well as by issues of gendered dominance that pervade interpersonal and professional relationships. In my workshops, the definition of “survivor” is expanded to encompass that broad range of second hand abuse for all participants who would like to counteract its influence. People with all levels of writing experience are welcome.
