St. Louis musician Bob Reuter was playing garage rock in 1966, psychedelic in 1968, performing solo and with pick up bands throughout the 1970s, had a band called Kamikaze Cowboy throughout the '80s. He's now back playing a blues/soul version of garage rock (when he's not playing with one of his bands).
