Bob Nieske's Big Wolf Big Band June 26, 2009

Bob Nieske's Big Wolf Band continues the growth of jazz composition for larger groups along the historic path set by composers Gil Evans, George Russell and Jimmy Giuffre. The Big Wolf Band is: Allan Chase, Tony Carelli, Tom Hall: Saxes; Phil Grenadier, Ken Cervenka: Trumpets; Jeff Galindo, Phil Swanson: Trombones; Jon Damian: Guitar; Bob Tamagni: Drums; and Bob Nieske: Bass. Bob Nieske has been an integral part of the area's cerebral jazz activities, having worked with legendary musicians like George Russell and Jimmy Giuffre, as well as the Either/Orchestra. He's an outstanding bassist.
