"Travel back in time to the days when slaves were traveling the UNDERGROUND RAILROAD to freedom.
In this lively, educational performance, Bob Ford will introduce you to the character Rhial Cheadle, a conductor on the Underground Railroad. You will go back in time to 1859 with Rhial as a guide, where you will create an abolitionist society, elect officers, and debate possible solutions to the problem of slavery.
When Bob Ford takes the stage, it doesn?t take long until casual toe-tapping and humming turns into an all-out sing-along; you will find that his enthusiasm is infectious. Bob Ford?s special lecture performance on the Underground Railroad is presented as part of the Black History Celebration activities and the ?Let?s Talk? dialogue program and is co-sponsored by the Office of Continuing Education and the Black History Celebration Committee. Following the performance, you will have a chance to reflect and discuss the experience."
