Rockin' Cruise Around Manhattan featuring Jump-Startin' Tunes by The Defibulators
Join Ground UP Productions for the BLUEGRASS BASH, a fun lovin’, good ole cruise around Manhattan on Friday, June 22, 2007 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Boardin’ takes place at 5:30 pm at Pier 83 (42nd Street and West Side Highway).
Guests will be treated to Southern hospitality at its finest: mouth-watering barbeque from BLUE SMOKE; deep fried fixins from COWGIRL; booze to whet your whistle; rockin’ tunes by Brooklyn’s jug band extraordinaire THE DEFIBULATORS; and a special appearance by JIM WANN (PUMP BOYS AND DINETTES). As the scenic cruise winds it ways around Manhattan, the festivities culminate with musical teasers from the New York premiere of Jim Wann and Patricia Miller’s Southern murder mystery musical THE PEOPLE VERSUS MONA, opening July 12th at the Abingdon Theater.
Proceeds from the BLUEGRASS BASH Bluegrass Bash benefit Ground UP Productions’ upcoming season. Tickets are $55 per person at www.groundupproductions.org. For more information, call (212) 358-3921. Group tickets are available. Wear what ya want. Rain or shine.
In addition to THE PEOPLE VS. MONA, Ground UP Productions’ 2007 – 2008 season includes the educational outreach production of JACK & JILL, A ROMANCE in Chapel Hill, North Carolina; Christopher Durang’s wickedly funny comedy of manners BABY WITH THE BATHWATER in November at Manhattan Theatre Source; and a spring production.
