You can't compare the Blue Man Group show to any other attraction around.
It’s a rock concert, heavy on percussion. A display of magic and illusion. A critique of modern technology and information overload.
Put those together, mix with some cobalt blue paint and you’ve got some idea of what you're going to see.
With their How To Be A Megastar Tour 2.0, the trio send-up and embrace the rules, rituals and raw excitement of that most primal of group experiences: the arena rock concert.
After downloading a tongue and cheek “how-to-manual” broadcast for the audience, Blue Man Group is joined by an eight piece band and takes us through step-by-step and song-by-song, every head-bobbing, fist-pumping moment of a real concert.
The result - a uniquely clever interactive show that, regardless of musical tastes, delivers hypnotic entertainment for all ages!
Blue Man Group's new tour How to Be a Megastar Tour 2.0 takes the audience through a satirical "workshop" on how to create "the perfect rock concert experience." In the process, they celebrate, skewer and otherwise deconstruct rock stardom in all of its narcissistic glory.
Expanding on the "Rock Concert Manual" concept from The Complex Rock Tour, this time around, the Blue Men download a new "how-to-manual" that takes the audience through a uniquely clever and interactive show that guarantees to deliver hypnotic entertainment for all ages.
This is not The Complex Rock Tour. BMG is taking some of the core elements of the original rock tour and making some wholesale changes. There are plans for new music, new video, and more opportunities for interactive experiences.
In the end the, the message of the show plays against its ironic title. Co-founder of Blue Man Group Chris Wink explains, “we want people to walk away feeling like the real magic of rock concerts come from their tribal and communal elements of the live show as opposed to 'mega-stardom.' We will invite people to upload pictures of themselves taken at the show to our website as a symbol of how the real star of a good rock concert is the euphoric vibe that takes everyone in the building to create."
Blue Man Group (BMG) is a creative organization centered on a trio of mute performers, called Blue Men, that present themselves in blue paint, latex bald caps, and black clothing. Please check blueman.com regularly for the most up to date information on How to be a Megastar Tour 2.0!
