BLIZZARD BELLY-BUSTING GRAND OPENING FOR REDEFINED FITNESS
Renowned fitness expert Sergio Rojas, the former head of the President’s Council of Physical Fitness and Sports under President Barack Obama, knows the country is in trouble—almost 60 percent of Americans are overweight or obese.
“We’ve had a grueling winter in Chicago,” he explains, “and Midwesterners tend to hibernate, and procrastinate to another day to begin their battle to lose weight—by spring that includes added winter weight gain.”
Rojas is not a fan of “yo-yo” dieting or pain. “Fitness is year-round, not seasonal,” he advises. “Everyone can be serious about their health, and work toward a fit, pain-free body for a few hours a week with other goal-oriented people who work out to feel better,” according to the NBC5 Fitness Expert.
Rojas just opened Redefined Fitness and Physical Therapy at the corner of Van Buren and Jefferson in Chicago’s Loop. The almost 4,000-square-foot facility includes a 700-square-foot yoga studio that is also used for functional training, sports drills and boot camps for men and women. The fitness and wellness center’s main service is personal and small group (2 to 4 persons) training and physical therapy, plus offers massage and corporate fitness classes.
Rojas is hosting a Grand Opening on Wednesday, March 2, 4 – 9 pm with an invitation to the general public to learn about fitness and get inspired. Former Chicago Bear Otis Wilson, award-winning chef-restaurateur Rick Bayless, plus fitness experts Andrea Metcalf (author of Naked Fitness, Today Show contributor and member of NBC 5 Fitness Club) and Saran Dunmore (member of Chicago Bliss lingerie football league and NBC5 Fitness Club).
The philosophy at Redefined Fitness is that training is learning—Learning new and exciting forms of building and maintaining good health. Certified, professional trainers with over 9 years experience work to help individuals surpass health and fitness goals using a methodology that infuses sports rehabilitation and functional fitness techniques.
Rojas left his post at the President’s Council to pursue his dream of opening this fitness and wellness facility in Chicago, and is now working on completing a fitness book and DVD series to reach others.
When asked what his major achievement in fitness has been, Rojas immediately smiles, “Helping individuals lose thousands of pounds--one client lost over 130 pounds; eliminating chronic aches and pains such as back, knee and hip pain; and simply increasing overall energy, enhancing everyday movements and improving sports performance.”
A key stakeholder in the development and launch of ‘Building a Healthier Chicago,” Rojas is also involved in the Mayor’s Fitness Council and the Vive En Forma (Latino Health Initiative).
With almost 15 years experience as a fitness-professional, Sergio--who is also a certified nutritionist-- has become one of the most in-demand fitness trainers in Chicago and throughout the U.S., working with professional athletes, celebrities, and top executives, in addition to developing fitness and wellness programs for major corporations.
Rojas works with the Energizabulls (Chicago Bulls charitable foundation) as a wellness consultant, and has also developed fitness content for Kids across America with HopSports, a digital physical education program. Sergio previously has worked as the Strength & Conditioning Coach for the WNBA's Chicago Sky.
Located at 600 W. Van Buren in Chicago, Redefined Fitness and Physical Therapy and Sergio Rojas can be reached at 312.361.3445 or www.reDEFINEDfitness.net.

"I find the new Redefined Fitness and Physical Therapy center and fitness guru Sergio Rojas to be cutting edge and really just what we are all looking for...the best way to make our bodies better. I'm a bit older than average gym-goers and really like the personalized attention and instruction that is targeted to individual needs"
