On tour with the Black Diamond Heavies, these garage-rocking boys hail from Chattanooga, Tennessee. Their latest album, "Songs for the Disenfranchised:, comprises ten brutally good and deceptively intricate songs dripping with snaky Southern guitar work, crunchy and crushing rhythms, and tastefully twangy vocal hooks that would make the Drive-By Truckers proud.
THE HIGH PLANE DRIFTERS
Psychedelic garage blues from the north east of England, their debut album "Georgian Ghosts, Archer Street Blues and The Candy Factory" should be turned up loud and beaten hard with a big stick. They ransack the entire history of primitive blues - dirty, gritty and without doubt potent, it’s the kind of swamp fest that’d have Tarrantino shitting bricks, with its lineage including the likes of Gallon Drunk and going further beyond to the likes of Link Wray and on to Muddy Waters, Hound Dog Taylor and Magic Sam.
