Black Couture Pre-Halloween Costume Ball October 2, 2010

The Black Couture Ball brings glamour back to the Fillmore District as guests dress up in vintage costumes and formal black dress to listen and dance to the tune of eight jazz, R&B, swing, and soul bands performing at Yoshi’s Fillmore, Rasselas Jazz Club, 1300 on Fillmore, Bruno’s Pizzeria Cucina, Sheba Piano Lounge and the Fillmore Center Plaza.__________________________________ The bands include 11th Commandment, Misa Malone, Emily Anne’s Delights, Slim Jenkins, Lee Presson And The Nails, and The Robert Stewart Experience. Adding elegance to this retro celebration is a vintage car display in front of the venues on Fillmore Street. Swing and Lindy dance and lessons will take place at the Fillmore Plaza followed by a contest for the best vintage costume. ___________________________________________The Black Couture Ball takes place throughout the Fillmore neighborhood, in restaurants and music venues along Fillmore Street from Post to Eddy Streets. Participating restaurants and clubs will be offering drink and food specials for the evening._____________________________

7:30 pm- 8 pm : Free dance lessons at Fillmore Center Plaza
8 pm -9:30 pm: Free dancing at the Fillmore Center Plaza to the music of Emily Anne’s Delights____________________________
Bands at Rasselas and Yoshi’s begin playing at 8:30 pm.

Cost: Couture Ball: $35 in advance, $45 at the door for joint admission to Yoshi’s Lounge and Rasselas Jazz Club.
Fillmore Center Plaza Event and admission to Brunos, Sheba Piano Lounge, 1300 on Fillmore, Lush Life Gallery are free
