View Sharon Sexton’s film Black Bottom and Paradise Valley: The Forgotten Legacy about the history of these two east side African-American sections of Detroit from prohibition to Jim Crow segregation and the race riots. Black Bottom was the African-American neighborhood from the 1920s - 60s while neighboring Paradise Valley served as an entertainment district. After the movie learn more about Detroit’s history with a question and answer session with Ms. Sexton.
