BJ LANG PRESENTS “CYRANO”
Produced and Directed by Richmond Shepard
Written by Yabo Yablonsky
Synopsis from Press Release:
Yabo Yablonsky, who wrote “Victory,” the film with Sylvester Stallone, which became “The Longest Yard,” wrote “BJ Lang....,” about a mad former film director who has the delusion that he is directing a film of “Cyrano,” as a starring vehicle for Mickey Rooney.
They shot the movie co-starring Luana Anders and Keenan Wynn, and Rooney was great, but they sold so many shares in the picture that they couldn’t release it. It hasn’t been seen except by a few friends of Yabo.
Richmond Shepard saw it, and suggested that Yabo re-write it as a stage play, since it only has one set. He did, and Yabo directed Richmond in it in 1986-7 in Los Angeles.
Now, directed by Shepard using Yabo’s original directorial concept, the cast of three includes Richmond.
Previews begin October 17th, with an official opening on the 19th for a three week run. Performances will be Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday at 8: PM and Sundays at 3:00.
