Richmond’s source of snuggly, sparkly, functional, repurposed, delicious and supremely crafty goodness
From Friday, November 26th until Christmas Eve, Chop Suey Books in Carytown (2913 W. Cary) will once again host the season’s most beloved lil’ craft fair: Bizarre Market Holiday! This year’s selected vendors faced tougher competition than ever for a spot in the bookstore’s itty-bitty upstairs gallery, so gifts and treasures of the highest handmade quality are to be expected. One-of-a-kind toys, jewelry, housewares, ceramics and art will be cozied up to screen printed, knitted, felted and repurposed wonders, all at very affordable prices. A portion of the proceeds will provide scholarships for youth participation in the Richmond Young Writers creative writing program.
And there’s a magical new attraction at BZMH this year: the TINY AUCTION! Commissioned – and tiny! – works by 20 area artists will be up for bids in a silent auction from November 26th-28th, and each piece is a unique design created especially for the auction. ALL proceeds from the TINY AUCTION will benefit Richmond Young Writers, so good deeds can be done simply by buying a gift! Bids end on Sunday, Nov. 26th at 4 PM.
