BITE OF HISTORY Lecture Series-“An American Woman in World War II” November 11, 2009

Professor Jim H. Madison’s book, “Slinging Doughnuts for the Boys,” takes a look at the men who defeated the Nazis and the Red Cross women who helped make victory possible. Volunteer Liz Richardson doled out doughnuts and coffee to American soldiers and, as her diaries reveal, she gained insight into the homesick GIs. The lecture is free. (Gallery admission is not included.) Drinks and light dessert are complimentary. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunches.
