Tickets are $20 and $15 for students/seniors and may be purchased at fundarte.us or ticketmaster.com or by calling (800) 745-3000 or in-person at the Colony Theatre box office (305) 674-1040.
NEW YORK-BASED SINGER-SONGWRITER BITCH takes the stage at the Colony Theatre. According to The Village Voice, “Bitch’s mouthy wordplay and virtuous electric violin playing are ferociously hot.” Bitch, who appeared in John Cameron Mitchell’s 2006 film Shortbus and toured and recorded with Ani DiFranco, has been described as “a music box all of her own.” Bitch's latest record, Blasted! (2010), continues to push the envelope with her wild-spirited avant-garde “theatrical punk” sound and has produced her most listenable and enjoyable album to date.
THE OUT IN THE TROPICS FESTIVAL INCLUDES a full line-up of performances including June 9 opening kick-off panel & party; on June 11 Crotch with Keith Hennessy; on June 12 the film Cracks with a women's reception; on June 18 Lip Service; and on June 10, 17 & 19 Jai Rodriguez in Dirty Little Secrets.
