Bird Call – see raptors & learn all about birds!
Whooo, do those feathers belong to? See the descendants of dinosaurs up close and personal. Discover the raptors of Placer County. Learn about their habitat, where they nest, how they live.
Jay Shields of Hawk Talk will introduce his amazing raptors. Jay has dedicated years to studying and preserving the raptors of California. Now he's bringing them to Placer Nature Center so you, your children and your friends can see them up close, learn all about California's raptors and why they're necessary to our environment as well as how and where they live.
The first 100 visitors will receive a free pocket guide to the birds of the Sierra Nevada! Come borrow a pair of our binoculars and hit the trail with your new bird book. Kids can also take along a bird bingo card. The nature center opens at 11 am and Jay will be available for questions and presenting his amazing raptors 12:30-2 PM.
