Jonathan Birchfield’s sound is a unique melding of Rock, Rhythm and Blues, Swing, Rockabilly, Jazz, and Americana. Over the past 25 years, he has shared the stage with great artists like Jimmy Buffett, Mac MaCanally, Brooks and Dunn, Tower of Power, Edwin McCane, Delbert McClinton, Peter Mayer, Robert Earl Keen, Guy Clark, and Townes VanZant. True to JB’s vast musical influences, he has a band to reflect each mood. “All of my shows are about having fun and most of all celebrating music,” says Jonathan. The Jonathan Birchfield Band with Chris Clifton, Mark Perrue, and Mark Weaver offers funky, rockin’ country. “It’s what you would get when you throw the Eagles, Delbert McClinton, Jackson Browne, and Tower of Power into a blender,” says Birchfield. Nostalgic for some swing? The JB Big Band is your answer. With up to nine horns and a complete rhythm section these cats are some of the best players in NC and New York. Think of them as the Rat Pack meets Rockabilly. JB’s third band is also his longest running. Graffiti covers all your favorites from the ‘80’s. There’s no sitting quietly while they’re rockin’ tunes from REM, U2 and the Beastie Boyz. Of course, if you’re looking for an intimate setting, JB has a stripped down show with an acoustic guitar, a piano, and his silky voice. As you can see, whatever your musical interests or event needs, JB and his talents are your answer. The opportunities are endless.
