Capoeira is the high energy fusion of dance, music and martial art that evolved among African slaves in Brazil. This show, RIO RHYTHMS, looks at the origins and development of capoeira in spectacular theatre experience.
It features a troupe of eight capoeirista from Sydneys Grupo Capoeira Brasil, choreographed by Peixe, and staring NIDA graduates Jasmin de Main and Marcus Johnson.

Come and experience the history and making of Capoeira followed by a Brazilian Party at the Edge Theatre Newtown every night with DJ Brandon Alchi (Acoisa) and live Brazilian drums. Enjoying the taste of Brazilian drinks like BRAVARA(Brazilian beer), Caipirinhas (Brazilian Cocktail) or just simply enjoy the flavor of the new energetic drink Go Fast or fruit juice (Pacific Juices).
