Singer/Songwriter/Storyteller Bill Champlin, namesake and leader of the seminal 60s Bay Area rock band The Sons of Champlin, and former lead vocalist of the iconic rock/pop band Chicago, brings his solo endeavor to the stage for a very rare and special solo, acoustic performance.
Bill's gritty, soulful vocals, and skillful musicianship on keyboards and guitar, promise an evening of music that speaks to multi-generations, with inside stories of the times, personalities and techniques.
Performing songs spanning Bill's 40+ year musical career, including his Grammy award winning compositions "After The Love Is Gone" (Earth, Wind, & Fire), "Turn Your Love Around" (George Benson), "Look Away" & "Hard Habit To Break" (Chicago), this show will highlight Bill's incredibly rich and diverse musical history and legacy.
Coupled with his warm delivery and fan-friendly stories and anecdotes, not to mention his funny, witty, and often wry sense of humor, this show promises to be a rare glimpse into the life and times of one of rock music's iconic musical legends. Several of Bill's immediate family, singer/songwriters in the own right, oftentimes travel with and attend his solo acoustic shows, so there's always a chance for a good surprise or two onstage!
