To highlight its December production of 8-Track: Sounds of the 70's, The Human Race Theatre Company is holding a karaoke contest of 70's songs during the downtown Urban Nights celebration September 10. The first 30 persons to sign up at 5pm will get to choose a 70's song to perform, and will compete in groups of ten at 6, 7, and 8pm - with the three finalists singing off at 9pm. First prize is $250, second $100, third $50...and finalists and perhaps others will be invited to perform a warm-up before a performance of 8-Track.
Emcee is Dan Edwards of WDTN-TV, judges include former Sha Na Na member and current UD law professor Dennis Green and Terry Morris of the Dayton Daily News.
