Randall Big Daddy Webster knows a thing or two about performing with horn sections. Years ago he performed with The Mighty Big Blues Band, which had five horns, and his current outfit Big Daddy & Red Hot Java once had a horn section. Now the Tallahassee Brass Quintet joins forces with Big Daddy & Red Hot Java in a powerful 8:00pm concert on Friday April 4th. First up will be the Brass taking the stage, then Big Daddys crew, and then theyll combine forces for a Blues and Brass explosion. All this happens at the friendly confines of the American Legion Hall on Lake Ella - Tallahassees premier live music venue with incredible acoustics and a large hardwood dance floor. Friday, April 4th 2008 - doors open at 7:30pm and show time is 8:00pm. $8.00 admission. ONE HUNDRED PERCENT (100%) OF TIP PROCEEDS WILL BENEFIT THE BIG BEND HOMELESS COALITION.

Big Daddy & Red Hot Javas ministry of Blues is a true celebration of the human condition. Its a sizzling brew played somewhere between Big Daddys home town of Chicago and his adopted musical home of New Orleans. The Chicago Tribune calls Big Daddy & Red Hot Java a delicious concoction of caffeine infused Blues! HOTBANDS.com says Big Daddy & Red Hot Java is fronted by three hundred pounds of heavenly joy and backed by a tight as a gnats booty rhythm section. World Blues Review exclaims Big Daddy & Red Hot Javas patented ministry of booty quakin soul shakin Blues pierces the very core of your soul, and then sends you into a wild voodoo dance. WWOZ 90.7 FM New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Station broadcasts Big Daddy & Red Hot Java cooks up a wonderful Blues based roux peppered with Soul, Funk, R&B, Jazz and Hip Hop. Big Daddy & Red Hot Java is Randall Big Daddy Webster on lead vocals and guitar, Michael Greif on bass and backup vocals, Jol Johnson of lead guitar and Derald Grier on drums and backup vocals. Says Big Daddy himself, We dig playing Blues its part of our soul. And its our mission to spread this ministry of booty quakin soul shakin Blues around the world and right here in Tallahassee!

Doyle Smith, Tallahassee Brass Quintets tuba player, knows how to hold down a bass line. Hes part of a group with a remarkable thirty (30) year history. The Tallahassee Brass Quintet plays outstanding traditional Jazz, Dixieland, Ragtime, Broadway and pop tunes from Bach to Stevie Wonder! And theyre celebrating their 30th anniversary as a performing group. With over one hundred (100) years of combined performing experience, they will intoxicate you with five part brass harmonies, intricate musical passages, and outstanding showmanship. Says Doyle Smith, We honor the thirty year history of our group every time out, but we also forge ahead bringing new contemporary tunes to the mix.

At the end of the evening the two groups (Big Daddy & Red Hot Java and Tallahassee Brass Quintets) join forces for an all-out Blues and Brass attack. They will shake the rafters at the Legion Hall with this incredible show. DONT MISS IT!
