bicycling: Ride of Silence - Nicosia May 19, 2010

19 May 2009 – Wednesday – Nicosia – 20km approx. (the ride: easy, average distance) (for all type of bikes)

“The Ride of Silence”. The ride is in honor of those who have been injured or killed while cycling on public roadways all over the world. Is has been established as an international event and will take place in Cyprus for the 2nd time. The goal is:

1. To honor those cyclists injured or killed.
2. To raise awareness that we are here.
3. To ask that we all share the road.

The ride takes places in silence under police escort and security in low speed not exceeding 20km/hour.

A great number of cyclist participants will greatly contribute in achieving the target of this ride therefore we encourage ALL – MEN – WOMEN – CHILDREN to show up with their bikes.

Meeting at the D’Avila Moat parking place in Nicosia by 18:45. Start 19:00 sharp. Ride duration 60 – 90 minutes.
