Beverly Hills Bar Assoc. Installs New President at Dinner September 28, 2010

André Birotte, Jr., US Attorney for the Central District of California, Is Keynote Speaker

Attorney Stephen L. Raucher, with Reuben, Raucher & Blum, will be installed as President of the Board of Governors of the Beverly Hills Bar Association (BHBA) at the organization’s annual Installation and Awards Dinner on Tuesday, September 28, 2010, 5:30 P.M., at the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles. André Birotte, Jr., US Attorney for the Central District of California, who leads the largest United States Attorney’s Office outside the District of Columbia, is the keynote speaker.

Presiding Justice Dennis Perluss of the California Court of Appeal will swear in Raucher, who will become the BHBA’s 80th President, and his cabinet as well as the officers for the BHBA Barristers, the young lawyers’ section of the Bar Association, and the Beverly Hills Bar Foundation, the charitable arm of the BHBA. In addition, several BHBA awards will be presented for outstanding service.

Other Board of Governors officers being sworn in are President-Elect Lawrence Jacobson; First Vice-President John Rubiner; Second Vice-President Diane Karpman; Secretary/Treasurer Linda Spiegel; and Immediate Past President Marc Poster.

The BHBA Barristers cabinet members to be installed are President Leigh Leshner; President-Elect Jaison Benjamin; Treasurer Amanda Hill; Secretary Jeanine Percival Wright; and Immediate Past President Sean O’Brien.

Beverly Hills Foundation leadership to be invested includes President Paul Basile, Jr.; President-Elect Uzzi Raanan; Lisa Maki, Vice-President; Cynthia Pasternak, Vice-President, Scholarships; Nancy Knupfer, Assistant Vice-President, Scholarships; Dawn Coulson, Vice-President, Grants; David Murphy, Secretar; Robert Weinstock, Treasurer, of Strategic Valuation Group, LLC; and Geraldine Wyle, Immediate Past President.
Several awards for outstanding service will be presented to BHBA members: Gideon Grunfel will receive the President’s Award; Marc Lieberman will be given the Board of Governors’ Award; Valensi Rose PLC, in Century City, will receive the Executive Director’s Award; and Alex Grager and Betty Pan Wickersham will receive the Barristers’ Lawrence J. Blake Award.

Proceeds from the Installation and Awards Dinner support the educational and community outreach programs of the BHBA.

The Beverly Hills Bar Association, serving the Los Angeles region since 1931, is the sixth largest bar association in California with more than 4,000 members. Its mission is to serve its members, to lead the legal profession and to advocate for justice in the community.
