Germany is the world leader in solar and wind, and the country is also moving
forward in biomass, efficiency, and related areas. What can Americans learn from
German policy? Craig Morris will discuss deregulation in Germany, environmental
taxation, and "feed-in rates" for renewables against the backdrop of American
policy and cultural mindsets.
Born in New Orleans, Craig Morris studied at universities in the USA, France and
Germany and taught at universities in the USA and Germany, most recently as a
lecturer at the University of Freiburg from 1993-1998. Since then, he has been
working full-time as a technical translator. He also covers environmental and
energy issues and policies of the EU/US as a journalist. His work has also
appeared in neue energie / New Energy, Refocus, and Photon.
