A group of Berklee's top student instrumentalists and composers will play New York City's legendary Blue Note Jazz Club, on Monday, April 27. The Berklee Scholarship Jazz Sextet, directed by trumpeter and associate professor Darren Barrett, will perform original compositions and jazz standards. The band, like Berklee itself, is a melting pot of different music and cultures, featuring players from Mexico, Israel, Canada, and the United States. The annual Blue Note showcase, because Berklee's finest players often relocate to the Big Apple after graduation, gives NYC a first look at a new generation of young lions.
