Dear BANA Supporters---
Our upcoming meeting will be on Saturday, April 21st at 9:15am, St. John's Pres., 2727 College Ave., Sproul Conference Rm., 1st Fl.
City Manager, Phil Kamlarz, will make a brief presentation on the City's biennial proposed budget (2008-2009) and then be available to answers question regarding the budget or other questions relating to services provided by the City.
Prior to the meeting we will have time to network and exchange neighborhood information--between 9:15am--9: 40am. We will be serving Organic Fair Trade coffee (decaf & reg.) from Mae's Coffee House & Internet Café on Shattuck and breakfast pastries courtesy of Greg Harper and me.
Our goal is to provide everyone the opportunity to ask a question or make a statement to the CM. Multi-part questions can not be entertained at the meeting as time is limited and we'd like everyone who would like to ask a question, to have the opportunity to do so.
At our May 19th meeting we will prepare budget recommendations to the City Council for the budget public hearing on May 22nd as well as continue discussions on whether Berkeley elected officials would be more responsive to the community if it were a charter city, general law city or a combination of the two in addition to neighborhood updates.
Please feel free to invite interested neighbors.
We look forward to seeing you next Sat., the 21st for coffee and what promises to be a good meeting.
Marie
