The Benton County Democratic Women’s Club is hosting State Representative Jim W. House (D) at the Bentonville Clarion Hotel & Convention Center on Monday, April 27.

Mr. House will report on the activities of the 87th Legislative Session, which ended April 9.

Mr. House, a two-term representative for District 89, is Benton County’s only elected Democrat. His district includes approximately 25 voters from Benton County.

Mr. House is Vice Chair of the Joint Energy Committee
and serves as a voting member on several other committees: The House Revenue & Taxation Committee and its Miscellaneous Taxes & Exemptions Subcommittee, the House Agriculture, Forestry & Economic Development Committee and its Parks & Tourism Subcommittee, and the Legislative Joint Auditing Committee. He is a non-voting member of the House Public Health, Welfare and Labor Committee.

Mr. House earned his Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville in 1971. A Vietnam veteran and a former Area Manager with the State Department of Health, Mr. House resides in Fayetteville and is a farrier when the Legislature is not in session.
