Ring in 2013 with some dance! Benita Bike’s DanceArt Company of Los Angeles will perform at the beautiful Acton Agua Dulce Library on Saturday, January 26, 2013, 2:00 pm. This is a FREE performance, supported by the Los Angeles County Arts Commission, Friends of the Acton Agua Dulce Library, and contributors to Benita Bike’s DanceArt.
Libraries are great places to share dance. People come to libraries to learn new things, so when they come to a dance show at a library, they’re already in the right frame of mind to open up to the dance experience. Benita Bike’s choreography stands at the crossroads of past and present, blending the music and sensibilities of the past with evocative contemporary movement. This Acton Agua Dulce performance will feature DanceArt’s “Eternal Encounter”, a fable of good and evil encountering one another repeatedly throughout time, and “Entrelazadas,” a dance that delicately traces the relationships of three women to accompaniment by Spanish composers Juan del Enzina, Gaspar Sanz, and Joaquin Rodrigo.
