Ben Mauger's Vintage Jazz Band

The Vintage Jazz Band, led by superb trumpet man Ben Mauger, have been quite popular in the Central Pennsylvania area and are making their first South Jersey “tour.” The seven piece group will bring back memories of Louis Armstrong, George Lewis, Sidney Bechet, Red Allen, Wild Bill Davison, Georg Brunis, Eddie Condon, and many more

Ben Mauger (leader on trumpet) has led bands at many Jazz Fests in FL,CT, PA, spent years with Alex Watkins at famous Deer Head Inn at Water Gap, and been lead trumpet in some big bands. Brian Priebe (trombone) was second in Swiss 2007 Alphorn Championship, has played in Utah Symphony, and with Ballet West. He accompanied Connie Francis, Frank Valli, Doc Severinson, Carole Channing, Louis Bellson, and Clark Terry. Doug Lasala (clarinet) was in Bob Lieve’s Wooster Trolley Jazz Band and leads the Moonlighters Big Band. See www.douglasala.com. Mike Kuehn (banjo/guitar) is third generation banjoist, fronts his own trad jazz bands, and played with Bob Schulz, Buck Creek, Climax, and more. Mike Shank (tuba/bass/bass sax) learned trad jazz in NYC in the 1980s and has played in many bands. Jeff Clinton (drums) gigs with Canal Street Hot Six, plus straight ahead jazz and blues gigs. This band has played many venues as well as at jazz fests and private parties in the Harrisburg-Lancaster area.
