Since moving to New York City in 1999, Ben Kono has been carving his own niche with his distinctive voice on multiple woodwinds. Equally skilled on saxophone, oboe, English horn, flutes and clarinets, he appears regularly with ensembles led by John Hollenbeck, Darcy James Argue and Ed Palermo, and he has recorded and performed with legends like Bob Berg, Michael Brecker, David Liebman and Patti Austin.
