Creative Artisans Hosts “BEGINNINGS” a Charity Art Auction to Benefit the Medical Needs of Artist: Nzaba-Robert Richardson on Wednesday, July 19, 2006 from 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Smith Farm Center for Healing and the Arts, 1632 U Street, NW, Washington, D.C. The evening features a retrospective of jazz inspired paintings and portraits created by Nzaba over the course of his 30 year artistic career. There will be a silent auction from 6:30 p.m. until 7:45 p.m. followed by a lively auction presided by Marie Johns, D.C. Mayoral Candidate. Live bidding will begin at 8:00 p.m. As a tribute to Nzaba’s love for jazz, there will be a musical performance by Melvin Rogers, keyboardist.
Trained at the Brooklyn Museum Art School, the Art Students League, Brooklyn College, Manhattan School of Printing and in Croton-on-the-Hudson workshops with photographer Yael Joel— Nzaba’s associations include Jim DeLoach, High Harrell, Nat Pinkney, and Art Steward and the Soul Force Gallery in Greenwich Village— along with mentors Jacob Lawrence and Lucien Freud. Nzaba has exhibited extensively throughout New York City, Washington DC and Maryland.
Creative Artisans is an art consultancy which provides art advisory services to private and corporate collectors, and artist representation. The company supports local non-profit organizations by donating valuable works of art and providing event sponsorship through its community outreach programs.
