Sample different varieties of honey while learning the basic skills of beekeeping needed to start and maintain a single beehive for honey production, garden pollination or just for study. Instructor Mike Garza, owner of Tropic Lightning Apiaries in Houston, will bring an example of a completed hive and its component parts and discuss everything from sources for obtaining a hive to how to remove and properly store the honey.
