Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day the Beehive Way!



WHAT: Irish eyes will be smiling when The Beehive presents their first annual St. Patrick’s Day festivities on March 17, 2008 from 5:00PM – 2:00AM. The “Bee Irish” event will include live entertainment and several ala carte Irish fare specials, as well as, The Beehive’s general secret-smirk when it comes to planning events. The claim from inside the hive is that while there will be plenty of mini surprises, this will not be your typical Irish fest. “No green beer here! We’re planning a wonderful evening of amazing Irish comfort food and authentic Irish entertainment.” said General Manager, Bertil Jean-Chronberg. Authentic being the key word! The Beehive has landed the stamp of approval for this year’s event from the Boston Irish Tourism Association, lending their co-sponsorship and officially sanctioning the event. “We’ve been more than happy to get involved with The Beehive on its 1st St. Patrick’s day festivities here in Boston and we’re looking forward to the amazing food and festivities planned!” said Michael Quinlin, President and founder of the Boston Irish Tourism Association.

DETAILS: In addition to serving the regular Beehive menu, Chef Rebecca Newell has created several ala carte specials including: House-made Bangers with Bubble & Squeak ($11) Irish Pub Salad ($11) Lamb, Barley & Parsnip Stew ($22) Wild Irish Salmon Shepard's Pie ($22) Apple-Oatmeal Crisp with Irish Whiskey Cream ($7.50) and of course plenty of Guinness to wash it all down!

DETAILS: Entertainment for the “Bee Irish” event will begin at 6:00pm with Boston legend Brother Cleve, whose family tree hails from Sligo, Tipperary and Black Bush, spinning Celtic styles from 6:00PM – 8:00PM, followed by Robert Emmet Dunlap and Hogan's Goat taking the stage at 8:00PM and performing on until 12:30AM. As always there is no cover charge for this event!
