Prominent Actors and Playwrights team up in
“Bedroom Secrets”
An exploration of love, relationships and sexual politics
at the Secret Rose Theatre
North Hollywood, CA – “Bedroom Secrets” at the Secret Rose Theatre is a collection of one-act comedies and dramas all taking place…you guessed it – in the bedroom! Producer/Director Kaz Matamura has gathered well-known actors including Kate Linder, Charlie Schlatter and Paige Howard has coupled them with notable playwrights from around the country.
Kate Linder is best known for her role as Esther Valentine on “The Young and the Restless”, which she has played since 1982. She is also one of two Daytime Governors at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences who present the Emmys. For her contributions in television, Linder earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2008.
Charlie Schlatter has starred in numerous TV series and films, and is well-known for his role in the series “Diagnosis: Murder” as Dr. Jesse Travis with Dick Van Dyke, and for his role in the movie “18 Again!” with George Burns.
Paige Howard, daughter of actor/director Ron Howard, has been seen in episodes of “90210” and “Medium”.
The playwrights who have added their works to this production are Don Nigro, Jim Beaver, Susan Cinoman, Mark Dylan Brown and Art Shulman.
Don Nigro has written more than 200 plays, 28 of which have played off Broadway. He is perhaps best known for his cult work “The Curate Shakespeare As You Like It”, sometimes subtitled “The record of one company's attempt to perform the play by William Shakespeare”. His plays also include “Seascape With Sharks and Dancer” which contains a well-known a monologue used by many a young actress in classes and as an audition piece.
Jim Beaver is an actor, playwright, and film historian, best known as Ellsworth on HBO’s Emmy-award winning series “Deadwood”.
“Bedroom Secrets” opens Friday April 16 and performs Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 PM, through May 8 for a four week limited run at the Secret Rose Theatre, 11246 Magnolia Boulevard, in the NoHo Arts District of North Hollywood, CA 91601.
