One of Philadelphia's most innovative theater companies, Hotel Obligado Physical Theatre Collective brings their powerful and critically-acclaimed work, "Beauty Is" to the LAB for a two-week run.
InforI"Beauty Is" takes a captivating look at the skyrocketing rates of HIV among gay men who use crystal methamphetamine and the drugs devastating effect on the community.
"Beauty Is" premiered in Philadelphia, PA (2007) and was distinguished with two honors - the play was named one of the Top Ten Productions of 2006-07 by the Philadelphia Weekly, and it won the Weekly's award for Best Choreography.
"Beauty Is" runs 55 minutes without an intermission. Each show will be followed by a post-performance Talkback facilitated by representatives of Tweaker.org, the Stonewall Project, and the Stop AIDS Project.
